How Does a Stair Stepper Help to Burn Fat

March 19, 2011 Leave a comment

I just wrote an article on the subject of ‘how does the stair stepper help to burn fat‘ but as you’ll see on the first line, and although this question is being asked by people all over the country, the question should really be how does it help to burn fat?

If you’re sat down on your butt, the fact is your going to get fat! But if you are moving around, no matter what you are doing in the form of cardiovascular exercise – you are burning calories from fat. A stair stepper, a treadmill or walk in the park with the dog, is going to burn off excess and unwanted weight. Enjoy the article.

Here are the most enlightening diet and weight loss tips I’ve come across on another website. It’s from the Readers Digest – 50 habits of naturally thin people

They cover everything from waking up in the morning and what you should do right away, to the end of the day which was quite surprising for even me to read! Enjoy.

Twist Stepper Workout Machine

March 3, 2011 Leave a comment

The twist stepper workout machine adds something a little extra to a typical stepper machine. As the name suggests, it twists around while you are stepping up and down. The twisting action of Twist Steppers targets the tops of your thighs, hips and buttocks. As we’ve already learned on previous posts like the one on mini stepper reviews, a normalĀ  stepper like this will only work your lower legs and your quadriceps. So the addition of this twisting action is great if you need a more intense workout.

Tone and Shape Your Legs With the Hers MS 68

February 27, 2011 Leave a comment

The Hers MS 68 Mini Stepper is a neat little piece of fitness equipment, which is lightweight and portable. The addition of the resistance bands (which seems to be typical of most mini steppers now) provides an upper body workout, hitting the shoulders, arms and back, while the low impact step motion works deep into the leg muscles.

As this is a fitness and review blog, my personal opinion of this mini stepper is that it’s great if you just want lightly tone your muscles. However, for anyone who wants to use just one fitness machine to ‘do it all’, my recommendation is the Sunny Health and Fitness Twister Stepper, because the twisting action helps shape your core muscles as well.

The Science of Losing Weight

February 24, 2011 Leave a comment

I just wrote a blog post on a different blog about the science of dieting and healthy weight loss. The basis of this article was that losing weight and dieting is not as easy as people say it is. In fact, there is a lot more to losing weight than just saying ‘ok, I’m going on a diet’! How often does that work? Not very often for sure.

Losing weight, dieting and fitness are all related. You can’t do one without the other. Well, for the odd few this may work, but for the majority of people they have to walk a couple of miles a day, jump on an aerobic stepper in a fitness class and really take good care not to eat too much umm, crap food!

Low Impact Stepper

An Amazon reviewer claims they switched from a rocking side stepper, to the Low Impact Aerobic Stepper because it gave them a better overall workout.

When you see how this stepper works, you’ll appreciate the ‘low impact’ value it will provide. Rocking in a sideways motion, instead of the normal stepping motion is a Godsend for anyone with knee problems, who want to use stepping to keep fit.

Mini Stepper Reviews

February 13, 2011 Leave a comment

I hope these mini stepper reviews help you to identify one, out of the hundreds of mini steppers available on the market, which best suits your needs and your budget.

The best mini stepper is not always the most expensive, particularly if you are low on funds (which is hardly surprising in this economic climate) so one of the two Amazon best sellers shown in the sidebar of the Exercise Steppers website could be perfect for you. Firstly, the Sunny Health and Fitness Twister Stepper (as the name suggests) adds a twisting motion, which works deep into the buttocks and upper thighs (inner and outer leg) which adding to your core stability and fitness. It also comes complete with a set of resistance cords, so while you are twisting and stepping, the movements you can perform with the cords will work your shoulders, arms and back.

The Stamina Instride Electronic stepper is Amazon’s second best selling mini stepper, retailing (on Amazon) for around fifty dollars. Like the Sunny Twister stepper, this model comes with resistance bands for working the upper body. Lightweight and compact, you can take this stepper with you to work if you don’t have time to use it at home. When you’re finished working out, just slide it away under a desk somewhere and go take a shower. You’re all set for the rest of your workday after that.
